Clean-ups are planned in Cullingworth, Harden, Denholme and Wilsden as part of a £50,000 spring clean.

Cleansing staff will blitz the villages during an operation taking in Shipley, Bingley and surrounding areas.

Much of the cash will be spent clearing, repairing and improving footpaths across the area.

The money is being spent in the next three months by Shipley Area Committee from its area action planning fund.

A footpath at Firth Lane, Wilsden, will be cleared and resurfaced at a cost of £3,000.

Brambles will be cut back and litter removed from the Dell, off Parkside Terrace, in Cullingworth.

Vegetation will also be cleared in Wilsden, at locations including Main Street, Tweedy Street, Wellington Road and Minorca Mount. Shrubs and litter will also be removed between Allotments Road and Station Road, in Denholme. Litter will be removed from the verges along Keighley Road and Long Lane, by St Ives and in Harden.
