Elvis Presley and U2 are among performers headlining at Glusburn Institute this winter and spring.

Not the real thing, mind, but tribute acts sharing the limelight with puppets, local bands and panto performers.

Steve Preston draws on 20 years' experience playing Elvis on March 8, while U2UK present an "awesome" interpretation of the rock legends on May 17.

Top local band Assembly returns "live and unplugged" on March 1, local rock bands perform on February 29 and Lempen Puppets present a 10am children's show on April 25.

The annual Glusburn pantomime, Cinderella, runs from February 11-16, including a Saturday matinee.

There is one real-life star appearing at the Institute - David Dean who hit the national pop charts before Christmas.

Hailing from Craven area, the swing singer charted with Let It Snow - from his Christmas album.
