A BUS pass adventurer from Keighley is setting off next week on his latest expedition.
Martin Carr celebrated getting a pensioner bus pass several years ago by embarking on a pilgrimage by public transport.
Since then he has clocked-up the mileage with a few more, and now – aged 77 – he's departing again, collecting en route for the RNLI.
He will be at Keighley bus station from about 8.30am-10am on Thursday (May 26).
"People are welcome to come along for a chat and if they can spare some loose change for the RNLI then both I and the charity would be truly grateful!" said Martin.
"My route this year is a repeat to some extent of my first trip but once I get to Berwick I will continue across to Carlisle and then down the west coast to Morecambe Bay, and then on until I get to somewhere like Liverpool, when I will head home.
"As on previous travels, I will be staying in youth hostels wherever possible. I am allowing up to eight weeks for the trip.
"I'm hoping to visit as many as possible of the 35 lifeboat stations that I will be passing close to on my journey."
