KEIGHLEY'S Royal British Legion is seeking new members.
The branch meets on the second Friday of each month at the Drill Hall bar, in Drill Street, at 7.30pm.
"They are friendly social evenings," says Jackie McGinnis, the branch secretary.
"There is a brief business meeting – which usually lasts about half an hour – to discuss ongoing items and plan which forthcoming engagements we may want to attend or arrange our own events to commemorate and support our armed forces.
"We are reaching out to the people of Keighley. Due to illness and, sadly, the death of some members our branch is depleted. Whilst there's a particular emphasis on the ex-military members of our community, everyone is welcome.
"There is a lot of support for the poppy appeal. Now we are looking for additional support."
Membership currently costs £18 a year. Meetings are free to attend.
For further information, contact Jackie on 07972 727269.
* Keighley Armed Forces and Veterans Club is back up and running.
It meets on the second Saturday of every month in the Livery Rooms, North Street, from 10am to noon.
"Members enjoy a good breakfast and the company of fellow ex-servicemen and women," says Jackie.
