TWO prestigious Rotary awards have been presented by the Keighley club.

The Paul Harris Fellow accolades were awarded at the club's charter dinner, by president Mary Parker.

The first went to Marie Hickman and, posthumously, the late Alan Hickman in recognition of a lifetime of dedication and service.

Their many achievements included a joint venture with the Rotary Club of Singapore, in which they raised funds to provide playground equipment. Closer to home, they helped set up the Singing Teapot – a singing club for people with dementia and their carers.

The second recipient was Margaret Marsden, who led the Singing Teapot and trained as a dementia champion.

She, together with Sandra Kelly, co-founded Dementia Friendly Keighley, which has since gone from strength to strength.
