A CROSS Roads-based charity is urging people to take the plunge to raise funds.
Yorkshire Cat Rescue is staging an abseil challenge at Wakefield Cathedral.
Daredevils will descend the 164ft tower on September 24.
Registration costs £25 and participants are asked to raise at least £100 through sponsorship.
The minimum age to take part is 15, and anyone under 18 will need the consent of a parent or guardian.
Jo Beverley, fundraiser for the charity says: "We held an abseil in Harrogate last year, which everyone really enjoyed and so much money was raised. We can’t wait for this year's event and hope it will be even more successful!
"Yorkshire Cat Rescue exists to save the lives of abandoned and unwanted cats and kittens in Yorkshire and beyond. All cats are provided with food, love, shelter and the necessary veterinary care until they find a forever loving home. The charity does not receive any Government support, so relies heavily on fundraising events like these to boost its income."

Yorkshire Cat Rescue also has several charity shops, including one in Keighley.
