The "Let's Talk Business Roadshow", launched in London last autumn, arrived at the Asian Women's Centre, in Keighley.
Promoted by the Conservative Party and the National Black Women's Network, the roadshow was created to showcase the spirit of black and minority ethnic (BME) enterprise and to identify barriers to business success.
Bradford Council economy portfolio holder Cllr Andrew Mallinson, one of the speakers, said: "Some of the barriers identified, either perceived or real, were what you would expect: family barriers (an issue of childcare) as well as financial barriers, and family orientation and tradition - whether or not a woman should work outside the home."
Cllr Mallinson added: "Bradford Council needs to do more business networking events aimed at BME women and women in general."
Other speakers included Shadow Cohesion Minister Baroness Warsi, NBWN director Sonia Brown and Yorkshire Forward diversity manager Sayka Akhtar.
