A Keighley-based company has helped to track a fundraising team's trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Rapid Innovations, a solutions and software developer in Devonshire Street, created a new mobile tracking solution called "Envision", which mapped the ascent of 15 people up one of the world's highest mountains. The expedition team of European employees from Grundfos - a pump manufacturer - raised more than 120,000 euros for the SACRED Trust, to buy computers and help educate more children in African townships.

As the team tackled the 4,700m challenge, Envision tracked the group at different points in its five-day journey, plotting its routes and compiling reports on progress.

The tracking equipment works through GPS-enabled mobile phones, helping real time tracking, planning and people management.

Peter Maddocks, director at Rapid Innovations, said: "When we heard about this great charity event, we were eager to lend our support, not only as sponsors but to officially track the team, and show just how versatile and reliable Envision is - even in one of the highest and most remote places on Earth."
