THREE Keighley-district Scouts have been chosen to take part in a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Canada.
The trio – Harrison Shaw, 13, and Lily Wood and Thomas Devlin, both 14 – will form part of a contingent representing West Yorkshire Scouts.
They had to attend a selection day, comprising group activities and individual interviews.
Now each Scout needs to raise £2,500 – and learn to ski – ahead of the trip, in 2024.
Whilst in Canada they will stay at an 18th Calgary Scout camp, in Banff.
A number of training weekends are being held, with one having already taken in place in June.
And fundraising is underway.
Activities so far have included a sponsored bike ride, and tombola and cake stalls.
The next fundraiser is at Our Lady of Victories School, in Guard House Road, Keighley, on Saturday, September 24.
There will be live music from Stars In Their Eyes winner Matt Shaw – who will perform a range of tracks – stalls, tombolas, games and refreshments.
Tickets for the event, which starts at 2pm, are £5 for adults and £3 for children. Call Andrea Robinson on 07950 650454.
Thanks are expressed to businesses and individuals who have given support.
