KEIGHLEY Musical Theatre Company is putting on a production of The Addams Family this autumn.
And the cast for the musical version of the classic show will include two talented newcomers to the society.
Dennis Maher and Danielle Ormerod will play the father, Gomez, and daughter Wednesday in the production – based on the hugely popular TV shows and films.
Dennis, originally from Harrogate, discovered a love of singing and music from an early age. He sang and played the flute as a youngster and took part in annual school musicals.
And he decided to turn his passion for performing into a profession.
After gaining a first class BA honours degree in musical theatre, he spent eight years as a singer and dancer in stage productions onboard cruise ships – travelling across the world.
Dennis moved to Keighley with his fiancee to become a vocal coach and entertainment recruitment co-ordinator, but lockdown forced him to step away from the industry and he has been working in various roles since.
"I am delighted to join Keighley Musical Theatre Company and the cast of The Addams Family to continue my love of performing as a hobby," he said.
"I have met many wonderful, talented people at the theatre company. I cannot wait for the public to see the final product."
Danielle was born and brought-up locally but has spent the past 12 years living and working between Canada, New York City and the UK.
She gained an undergraduate diploma in musical theatre from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York and an MA in acting from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London.
Some of her favourite credits include Liesl in The Sound of Music, Autolycus in The Winter's Tale and Cavale in Cowboy Mouth.
Danielle said: "I am proud to be making my Keighley Musical Theatre Company debut as Wednesday in The Addams Family. It is going to be a wonderful production."
A spokesperson for the theatre company said: "We are delighted to be back – with a fantastic family favourite that will entertain all ages!
"We would love you to join Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday and Pugsley – not forgetting Uncle Fester, Lurch and the rest of the 'kooky' family – for this heart-warming story."
The show will be performed at Victoria Hall, Keighley, from October 18 to 22.
Tickets go on sale next Thursday (September 1) – visit keighleymtc.com.
