The fifth in a series of films being shown to celebrate five years of Haworth's Fairtrade status will be screened in the village on Sunday.

Black Gold, which is about the coffee industry, will be shown in West Lane Baptist Church, at 6pm. Fairtrade refreshments and further information about how to be an ethical consumer will be available during the evening, which free to all.

Keighley MP Ann Cryer will be among those present at the screening.

Haworth Fairtrade co-ordinator Rita Verity said Mrs Cryer would have an update on the notebook given to her by the Haworth Fairtrade group in 2006.

The book contains information on how farmers in the developing world can receive a decent, stable price for their products.

It also encourages people to sign and leave comments on its blank pages.

The book handed to Mrs Cryer now contains signatures from more than 50 MPs, three Prime Ministers and many more celebrities, who have praised Haworth's achievement and commitment.

Haworth was one of the first places in the UK to gain official Fairtrade status.

After the actual fortnight has finished a special Sunday morning service will be held at the West Lane Baptist Church to further highlight the fair trade issue.

This begins at 10.30am, on Sunday, March 16.
