A WEEKEND of walks and outdoor activities is being staged across Keighley – and beyond.
Keighley Walks 2022 will feature a programme of ten events, between September 16 and 18.
Most of the activities being staged as part of the initiative, funded by Keighley Big Local and Bradford Council, are free.
The venture is 'bringing to life' walks from the hugely successful Walking in the Aire books penned by Keighley East author Lee Senior.
He says: "The original Walking in the Aire book and the more recent Walking with One Foot in the Aire came about as I realised there were few walking books covering Airedale that focused on shorter distances.
"I wanted to devise walks for the everyday person.
"The books therefore contain walks that are suitable for anyone with a couple of hours to spare or no more than half a day."
Shaun O'Hare, of Keighley Big Local, says the weekend will give people the chance to explore the area's varied landscape.
He adds: "Airedale is made up of a mixture of landscape types. The weekend is a celebration of those and also an opportunity to team up with the groups that support and knit together the communities."
