Popular Keighley man Bob Rushworth has died, aged 88.
Although born at Idle, Bradford, he moved as a young child to the Keighley area - his father Charlie worked at Harrisons Mill, in Dalton Lane.
After leaving school Bob joined Keighley Lifts as an apprentice and during that period was an avid footballer, playing for local teams. He was also a cornet player with the old Keighley Borough Band.
Following qualification as a fitter in 1949, he travelled with his young family to East Africa, still working for Keighley Lifts.
He moved to a rival firm for a short time but rejoined Keighley Lifts as a director on returning to England.
Bob - who lived with his wife Joyce at Riddlesden - played golf at Keighley for many years and later took up crown bowling at Cross Hills Bowling Club.
