Two people fled from police following a routine car check at 12.50am this morning (Monday).
Police signalled for a car to pull over off Skipton Road in Keighley but when they approached the vehicle the occupants had abandoned it and gone to ground.
The police officers called for more support and later in the morning two people were arrested for taking a vehicle without consent.
Inspector Jenny Thomson for Keighley Police said: "A police car saw a car driving around and decided to check it out, which is what they do at that time in the morning.
"When they had got around the corner both the occupants had run off but they were later found and arrested."
