A SPECIAL service will be held in Keighley next Saturday (September 17) to commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II.
The service takes place at Keighley Shared Church, on Church Green, at noon.
Anyone is welcome to attend.
The service – being held in conjunction with Keighley Town Council – will include prayers, readings and hymns.
People have been visiting the church yesterday (September 9) and today to sit and pray, light candles and sign a book of condolence.
Rector of Keighley, the Rev Canon Mike Cansdale, said that yesterday in particular had seen a steady stream of visitors.
"Many reflected on the fact that Her Majesty was the only monarch they'd ever known," he added.
"Queen Elizabeth II was a remarkable woman and an inspiration to us all. Her steadfast faith and loyal service throughout 70 years as monarch will be long remembered."
