A pensioner who was depressed after losing his mobility following a stroke took an overdose, an inquest heard.
Thomas Hawley, 71, of Heather Grove, Keighley, died at Airedale Hospital on December 13, last year.
A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Hawley had taken an overdose of his prescribed medicine.
At an inquest on Friday, Bradford Coroner Roger Whittaker said Mr Hawley did not return to full health following a stroke last August.
Recording a suicide verdict, Mr Whittaker said: "There was evidence he was depressed because of his lack of progress and lack of mobility."
