A new group has been formed to ensure Oakworth puts its best foot forward in the annual Yorkshire in Bloom contest.
Oakworth in Bloom originated from an idea voiced at an Oakworth Forward meeting.
It aims to encourage people to become more active in improving their village by injecting some colour into public places.
Its first project is to give Holden Hall a facelift by installing planters and flowerbeds. The hall will be entered in a special category of Yorkshire in Bloom.
The next meeting of the group will be next Thursday, at 2pm, in the Community Contact Point, at Holden Hall.
