A six-year-old girl is taking the plunge to raise cash for Manorlands.
Amy Chadwick, from Oxenhope, will tackle a non-stop two-hour solo swim in aid of the Sue Ryder Care hospice.
The youngster has only been swimming without the aid of arm bands for eight months, but has already completed 1,200 metres in under an hour during one lesson.
Her sponsored challenge takes place at Cannons Health Club in Cottingley on April 5 under the supervision of her swimming teacher Yvonne Wiseman, an instructor at the club.
Airedale Chemicals at Cross Hills - run by Amy's dad, 44-year-old Richard Chadwick - will be a major sponsor.
The youngster and her mum Lizzy have helped out at the Manorlands garden party for the past two years and Amy had no hesitation in choosing the Oxenhope hospice to benefit from her effort.
Anyone wishing to offer sponsorship can contact Lizzy on 07870 668589.
