KEIGHLEY Musical Theatre Company is returning to full-scale productions in style.
The company next month performs the musical version of the classic show, The Addams Family.
During the pandemic, the group's activities were severely restricted by social distancing requirements – and the use of its Victoria Hall venue as a Covid testing centre.
Undeterred, members were still able to put on a successful show – All Together Now! – at Keighley Playhouse.
Now The Addams Family – being performed at Victoria Hall from Tuesday, October 18, to Saturday, October 22, with a matinee on the final day – marks the company's resumption of 'normal service'.
"We had decided that when a full-scale musical could be put on once again The Addams Family would be a great choice," says a company spokesperson.
"The show opened on Broadway, New York, and then in Britain at the Edinburgh Festival in 2017.
"A talented production team has been assembled – with musical director John Sandland, Judith Chapman as choreographer and new director Giles Atkinson, who is well known in the area having directed at Guiseley/Bradford and produced shows at Craven College where he is a lecturer in drama.
"We have also gathered together a superb cast, from both regular members and new – promising to bring this fabulous, funny and slightly 'spooky' family show to their audiences."
The line-up includes Gomez (Dennis Maher), Morticia (Nikky Burrows), Uncle Fester (Jonny Tate), Wednesday (Danielle Ormerod), Pugsley (Harvey Dewhurst), Grandma (Leah Ogrizovic) and Lurch (Kylan Granger).
And the 'normal' family comprises Mal (Dean Harness), Alice (Phoenix Bass) and Wednesday’s love, Lucas (Alex Bower).
"Of course most people know the popular finger-clicking theme tune of the show from its films and TV shows but there is more to it than that!" added the spokesperson.
"The show is alive with fabulous musical numbers, dancing and spectacular sets.
"When Wednesday tells her father that she is in love with a 'normal' boy and has invited his whole family to dinner, you can imagine what might happen! A very entertaining evening is promised."
Tickets are available now – go to keighleymtc.com, or call 03000 301 303.
An NHS discount is available for the Tuesday evening performance.
The book used for the musical version of The Addams Family was written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and was based on characters created by Charles Addams.
Music and lyrics are by Andrew Lippa.
