AN awards scheme supported by singer Lizzie Jones has launched a community arts accolade.
Organisers of the Yorkshire Choice Awards are looking to celebrate 'unsung heroes' in the arts industry.
A spokesperson said: "Community arts is all about people coming together to share their knowledge, skills and experience through creative projects that benefit their communities. Whether you are an artist working alone or part of a group, we want you to get involved with this new award category.
"The Yorkshire Choice Awards are an opportunity for businesses, charities, voluntary organisations and individuals to be recognised for their outstanding contributions."
Lizzie – widow of former Keighley Cougars star, the late Danny Jones – regularly performs at the awards ceremony.
