THURSDAY (October 27) will see the district launch of this year's Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Martin Love, will receive the first poppy in a ceremony at City Hall.
The presentation will be by Barbara Allsopp, chair of the Royal British Legion's Bradford Central branch.
Due to pandemic restrictions, the ceremony has not been held over the past two years.
As well as remembering those who have given their lives in conflict, the appeal raises funds for the Royal British Legion's work supporting current and former service personnel and their families.
Councillor Love says: "We're proud to again back this very important annual appeal, which commemorates the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces – past and present – but also funds the many services provided by the Royal British Legion to support those communities."
A Royal British Legion spokesperson says: "As we pay tribute during remembrance this year to those who have served and sacrificed, we hope people will show their support to all our amazing Poppy Appeal collectors in communities. Without our partners, volunteers and the public, we wouldn't be able to continue supporting serving and ex-serving men and women and their families."
