KEIGHLEY Men's Forum enjoyed a talk by the town's MP, Robbie Moore.
Members heard that his father had worked as a farmer and truck driver in the Market Rasen area of Lincolnshire.
As a young man, Robbie studied estate management at Newcastle University – qualifying as a chartered surveyor, specialising in rural affairs.
But after ten years he decided on a change in career direction, and chose politics.
He stood as the Conservative candidate for Keighley & Ilkley in 2019, winning with a 2,218 majority.
Mr Moore answered questions from members on a wide range of topics – from higher education with university degrees competing against technical colleges, to the size of the Bradford metropolitan district.
Thanks were given by forum president Dave W Smith.
Mr Moore said: "It was a pleasure to be invited along to Keighley Men’s Forum, where I had the opportunity to meet this brilliant group, give an overview of my background and talk about the local projects I am working on to improve our area.
"I also received some great questions from the floor.
"I give my thanks to the Keighley Men’s Forum for kindly inviting me along, and I am looking forward to welcoming the group for a tour of Parliament in the coming months."
