POLICE are warning motorists to be on their guard after another parked vehicle in Keighley had its number plates stolen.
Front and rear plates were taken from a Skoda parked in Edensor Road, on November 14.
The thieves struck sometime between 8am and 6.30pm.
Anyone with information is asked to call West Yorkshire Police on the non-emergency number, 101, quoting crime reference 13220629790.
The incident is the latest in a string of number plate thefts that have occurred across Keighley this year.
Often, stolen plates are used by criminals on vehicles to avoid identification through automatic number plate recognition technology.
West Yorkshire Police urges motorists to consider getting their number plates fitted with tamper-proof screws.
It has also issued general crime-prevention advice to help protect your vehicle – and its contents – from theft.
Tips include never leave any valuables on show, check your car windows are closed even if leaving the vehicle unattended for just a few moments and don’t assume your vehicle has locked when using a key fob.
Van owners are encouraged, where possible, not to leave tools in their vehicle overnight.
