THE Shakes will headline at the latest Groovy Happening in Haworth.
Band members debuted at the charity event in November last year, but under the name Late Nite Radio.
They are back for the 123rd Groovy Happening, which takes place upstairs at the Parkside Social Club in Butt Lane on Saturday, December 3, from 7.30pm.
Original The Shakes members Jeff Rowland, Steve Wilson and Wayne Marshall will be joined by Steeve Davies on drums and Frank Farkas on lead vocals.
The band plays its own material.
First on stage will be Beep Beep Aargh! Members Johnny Lorrimer and Phil Hobson are performing for the third time at Groovy.
And they will be followed by The Faff – an acoustic, pop folk band comprising guitars, fiddle, cajon and vocals.
The band was formed from a group of friends who were all members of a Halifax canoe club, and keen kayakers.
They cover songs from the likes of The Waterboys, Steve Earle, Jake Bugg, Stereophonics and The Killers.
Admission to the Groovy Happening is £5, cash payments only.
All proceeds go to the Oxenhope Sue Ryder hospice, Manorlands.
Since the event was first held, £44,700 has now been raised for the cause.
