RAISE a glass to Timothy Taylor's award-winning Landlord ale.
The brew was the UK's second-highest-selling cask ale this year, new figures reveal.
And Keighley-based Timothy Taylor is one of the few regional, family-owned and still independent breweries in the top ten.
The data is compiled annually by insights expert CGA, for the Morning Advertiser Drinks List.
Landlord is consistently one of the industry's strongest-performing cask ales and has featured in the top ten for several years, with its previous high – last year – being third.
Taylor's chief executive, Tim Dewey, says: "Everything we do at Timothy Taylor is designed to achieve the best and consistent quality.
"The ongoing success of Landlord can be put down to our uncompromising brewing process, the very finest ingredients and the relentless hard work and commitment of our team – from the brewery team to the sales team, office staff and our drays, and of course the dedicated pubs and wholesalers responsible for looking after our beer once it’s left the brewery.
"Landlord’s success rests on all our shoulders, and to see it become the second-highest-selling cask ale in the UK – and top independently-produced cask ale – is testament to that hard work."
