KEIGHLEY Creative has a new home.
The arts charity has moved into the town's former Argos store.
And the organisation is inviting artists and other creative people who are seeking studio space to join it.
The Cooke Lane premises will provide a temporary base whilst the charity negotiates the purchase of a permanent site.
There are nine studios, an exhibition area and The Unit – an open-access film production space.
Keighley Creative says there are currently two unused studio areas and the scope to construct more if there's demand.
The aim is to increase the diversity of creatives benefitting from the hub.
Susan Mendoza, the charity's chair, says: "We are seeking to build exciting, friendly, front-facing studios accessible to the community.
"We're looking for those creatives who enjoy sharing their practice and would like the opportunity to be part of our Keighley Arts and Film Festival, education programme, studio exhibitions and open days.
"We are very happy with the move and we can’t wait to invite people into the space to see our new home."
The Unit is a film production space backed by Channel 4 and Bradford Council, in a partnership involving both Keighley Creative and Impact Hub Bradford.
The facility is designed for the district’s filmmakers and content creators, and as a place to improve opportunities for a route into employment in creative industries such as commercial TV and film production.
The Unit's facilities include editing bays, high-quality production equipment and meeting and screening areas – for self-scheduled events as well as The Unit’s own programme of activities.
Participation by young people and under-represented groups is particularly being encouraged.
With funding from the Keighley Towns Fund, the charity is in the process of buying a permanent home to renovate and open as a part of Bradford’s City of Culture year in 2025.
Keighley Creative, which spearheads events including a hugely-successful annual arts and film festival, was previously based at the former Sunwin House building in Hanover Street.
Its new three-storey temporary base was occupied by Argos until the retailer centred its Keighley operations at the Sainsbury's store in Cavendish Street.
The Cooke Lane building was originally home to the Willis Ludlow department store.
Keighley Creative has already been running a programme of events at its new premises, including a Christmas baubles workshop.
