A PARADE of 150 festively decorated tractors, Land Rovers and even a harvester set off from Keighley to Skipton on Monday evening to raise money for Airedale Hospital and Manorlands Hospice.
Organised by the Lothersdale Agricultural Discussion Group, Rudolph’s Run set off from Laycock at just after 6pm and made its way through Keighley, Riddlesden, Silsden, Steeton, Airedale Hospital, Sutton, Kildwick, Bradley and Skipton where the parade did a lap of the High Street before finishing at Craven Cattle Market.
Once the vehicles were assembled at the market, judging of the best decorated tractor took place by seven year old Luke Mortimer from Embsay.
Ben Whitehead’s winning tractor included a ‘minion’ dressed as Father Christmas, while second place judged by Andrew Wood of Manorlands Hospice was won by John Houseman and included a 20ft Christmas Tree.
Matthew Cornforth, group secretary, said: “ A big thank you to everyone involved in organising and sponsoring this fantastic event, but most of all to the spectators who lined the route. Your support was incredible please follow us on facebook for pictures and a grand total. See you all next year.”
So far, the run has raised almost £4,500. Donations can still be made on the JustGiving site: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/rudolpsrun2022?utm_id=2&utm_term=xDNKDBwME
