A BRADFORD district railway station was being given a national TV showcase today.

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Station was the backdrop for a report on today’s This Morning programme on ITV1, hosted by Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby from 10am.

Presenters Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson paid a visit to the station, taking selfies and even donning railway worker uniforms.

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway tweeted a few photographs of the presenter’s visit to the station, adding: “Tune into This Morning to see Alison & Josie visit us on a freezing cold day for a trip out on 45212!”

It is the latest TV appearance for the Bradford district station.

In November last year, Channel 5’s Susan Calman’s Grand Day Out saw the comedian travel to Oakworth Station. Here she was inspired by the original 1970 classic, ‘The Railway Children’, which was also filmed at the station.

In this programme, Susan meets volunteer station master Richard Ashworth, helping him to close the Oakworth Station level crossing to traffic while a steam train passes through.

Meanwhile, The Railway Children Return, the sequel to the 1970 classic, was filmed at the station and starred Sir Tom Courtenay and Jenny Agutter.
