A DISTRICT NHS care trust has a new non-executive director.

Christopher Malish has joined the board of Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

He says he's "thrilled" to take up the role.

"I am looking forward to working with the executive team to continue driving service improvements for local people," he added.

"I'm really passionate about supporting the local community, having lived in the district for the last 17 years, and I have a deep loyalty to the communities served by the trust."

Mr Malish began his career in the financial services sector, spending ten years with global businesses including Royal Bank of Scotland Insurance, before he moved into education.

Latterly he has served as vice principal for finance and corporate services at Bradford College and before that worked in senior finance roles at the city's university.

His new appointment is welcomed by care trust chair, Dr Linda Patterson.

She said: "I am delighted to be welcoming Christopher to our trust. His extensive public service experience will bring greater richness to board discussions and provide further value to the high-quality services the trust delivers. I very much look forward to working with him as he takes up his new role."
