THREE people have proved they are all talk – and they're delighted!
A trio of Craven Speakers Club members won the group's annual speech and topic competition.
And now all three – Jayaraj Nambiar, John Merrett and Shaun Nixon – go forward to compete in the Association of Speakers Clubs Eastern Region contest at Bramhope next month.
Jayaraj gave a speech on Remotely Working, while John's topic speech was entitled The Kindness of Strangers.
The evaluation competition, held earlier and won by Shaun, involved providing feedback on another person’s speech.
Club secretary Eileen Ward said: "It was a most enjoyable evening. Guests present for the first time were in awe of the level of expertise demonstrated by the speakers and how they had developed it all amongst themselves as a self-help group."
The club welcomes new members and visitors.
Its next meeting is at the Soroptimist Rooms, in Otley Street, Skipton, on Monday, February 13, at 7.15pm.

Anyone is welcome to provide support at the Association of Speakers Clubs regional contest. The event is taking place at St Giles Church, Bramhope, on March 11, from 2pm. Other participating clubs will include York, Wetherby and Halifax-and-Huddersfield.
