PEOPLE are being asked for their memories of a historic Keighley woodland.

The Friends of Park Wood are recording how the popular site has changed.

And they are also keen to hear the public's views on present-day experiences of the wood and thoughts about its future.

A Friends spokesperson says: "Above Keighley railway station and the River Worth, Park Wood has nestled on the hill since ancient times.

"We are a small, friendly group which works with Bradford Council woodland officers to nurture this ancient site for the benefit of nature, the environment and our community – meeting in the woods on the first Saturday of each month to clear litter and paths and make improvements, organising events, fundraising and having fun!

"We're keen to record how the site has changed by using historical documents and archives and by collecting memories and experiences. Please share your experience of the woods past or present, how you feel about the site and any hopes or fears you have for its future."

Email info@park-wood.co.uk or go along to the annual meeting at Long Lee Methodist Church on Wednesday, February 22, at 7.15pm. Refreshments will be provided. For more about the group, visit park-wood.co.uk.
