YOUNG Farmers from the Worth Valley and Skipton-with-Silsden clubs were amongst those who competed in an inaugural Next Generation initiative.
The groundbreaking venture tested participants on a range of agriculture-themed skills including auctioneering, valuations, stock judging, and sorting sheep for sale.
Open to people aged 15 to 25, the event – at Skipton Auction Mart – attracted Young Farmers from clubs across the north, and some individual entries.
Cash and other prizes were on offer.
Skipton-with-Silsden was the team which finished with most points, and received £100 courtesy of Craven Cattle Marts.
The event also included a public speaking contest, chaired by Becki Leach, of Lothersdale Discussion Group.
Organisers hailed the gathering as a "huge success" and hope it will now become an annual fixture.
