A NOT-for-profit charity insurer is inviting good causes in the region to apply for a share of a £25,000 funding pot.
Ansvar – an insurer of charities, churches and voluntary groups for over 60 years – is offering cash awards for projects that benefit communities.
An overall winner will receive £15,000, and £5,000 each will be awarded to two other charities.
Applicants just need to explain in up to 500 words why their project, which could already be running or about to start, deserves the funding.
Sarah Cox, for Ansvar, says: "These are tough times for many charitable organisations, so we’re delighted to announce our search for three registered charities to benefit from the £25,000 prize pot.
"We know how much the money will mean to projects.
"We’re really looking forward to hearing from a wide breadth of charities and learning how they could benefit from this funding boost. We strongly urge any eligible charitable organisations in need of funding to submit an application."
A judging panel will decide the winner and other beneficiaries.

The closing date for applications is Monday, April 17.
Successful applicants will be notified by May 31.
