THE heavy snow has failed to derail a steam gala on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
The four-day event began as planned yesterday (March 9).
Tom Marshall, for the railway, says: "The weather didn't cause any issues yesterday, and we plan on running today – the first locomotive has already left the yard. There will be a few tweaks to the timetable, but it's full steam ahead!
"Volunteers up and down the railway have literally been digging in to clear snow!"
The first service today, from Oxenhope Station, features the 135-year-old 'Green Dragon' locomotive that starred in the movie, The Railway Children.
