A 'BIG Seed Giveaway' in Keighley proved a blooming success.
Keighley Horticultural Society distributed free seeds and planting kits, and offered advice, as part of a mission to get the town growing.
Members had stalls at two venues, Sainsbury's and Morrisons.
"Many people from Keighley and the surrounding areas came along," said a spokesperson.
"We gave away over 300 packs of seeds, plant cuttings, plug plants and seed potatoes.
"There were people of all ages, with varying gardening experience – including a 14-year-old who grows on his grandparents' allotment and a lady who has turned her small backyard into a garden where she can sit and enjoy watching the butterflies, bees and birds that now visit.
"Keighley and district really does have a passion for gardening!"
The society also invited people to go along to the horticultural marquee at Keighley Show, on September 2, with photos of what they grow.
