CATTLE farmers from across the Keighley district could be forgiven for feeling bullish.
Several enjoyed success at Skipton Auction Mart's second annual Grass Day show and sale of stirks, which featured a wide range of classes.
Best single continental heifer was a 12-month-old Limousin from JG Leach & Son, of Wilsden, which sold for £970.
David Mitchell – also from Wilsden – who took first prize at last year's event with a pen of five continental heifers, repeated the feat with a consignment of five Blue-x, aged around seven and eight months old, which realised £830.
Tom Priestley, of Sutton-in-Craven, won the native heifers show class with five Hereford cattle, which sold for £720.
And Oldfield-based J&S Ibbotson took the native males class with an Aberdeen-Angus pen.
Organisers said they were pleased with the success of the event, with a "solid" entry of 243 across all classes.
