A FORMER Keighley Methodist minister has been honoured for his service to the Church.
The Rev Dr Albert Mosley has been presented with a certificate marking more than 70 years as a clergyman.
He received the accolade from Methodist Church president, the Rev Graham Thompson.
Dr Mosley was born at Farnhill in 1926, and grew up in Cross Hills.
After attending Glusburn Primary School and Keighley Boys’ Grammar, he studied at Cambridge and Leeds universities.
He was ordained in 1952, and married Margaret – nee Laycock – also from South Craven.
They spent 11 years in Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe, and then six years in Keighley, where he was minister for Lund Park, Exley Head, Fell Lane and Laycock.
Dr Mosley then served in the Church overseas division and at Walsall Central Hall.
He retired in 1991, becoming a supernumerary, and the couple moved to Leicester.
Mrs Mosley died in 2019.
