KEIGHLEY Rotary Club has begun painting work as part of a project to restore cast-iron urns in the town's Cliffe Castle Park.

Members had carried out preparatory tasks during a volunteering session marking The Big Help Out, which was held over the extended coronation bank holiday weekend.

But wet weather had prevented volunteers making a start on the painting.

"We enjoyed bright sunshine as the work finally got underway!" said a club spokesperson.

"The project will continue through the summer months to help Cliffe Castle Support Group.

"We would welcome any volunteers who might like to come along and help out. You can devote as much or as little time as you feel able. We've been provided with the brushes and paint by Cliffe Castle."

Anyone interested in assisting should email secretary@keighleyrotary.org.
