A CHURCH has celebrated a milestone.
Worshippers at St Barnabas, Thwaites Brow, have marked the 50th anniversary of the current building.
A short service was held and a community event featured a wide range of attractions including a bouncy castle, barbecue and free beer. Inside the church hall, tea, cake and juice were available.
Guests included Bishop of Bradford the Right Rev Dr Toby Howarth, Keighley town mayor Cllr Mohammed Nazam and local councillors.
During the service, where the congregation included former vicars from the church, Bishop Toby took the name St Barnabas as his theme.
He reminded people that it was a nickname given to one of the early Christian followers.
The Rev Alastair Kirk, for the church, said: "A fabulous day was had by everyone, and the congregation was deeply encouraged and energised by the occasion. It was very special to share our birthday with the wider community."
