A KEIGHLEY company is taking part in Sustainable Fashion Week.
The Stitch Society – based at Mantra House, in South Street – will act as a hub for the national initiative, which runs from September 25 to October 8.
The firm, founded and run by Charlotte Meek, manufactures sustainable workwear and clothing using UK-sourced fabrics.
Charlotte says: "With over 80 per cent of clothing ending up in landfill, we wanted to help people explore alternatives to over consumption, and Sustainable Fashion Week seemed the ideal opportunity.
"Our programme will include clothing swaps, talks, workshops on mending and a screening of the film Fashion Reimagined.
"We wanted to work with local businesses as well as schools and colleges and are delighted that Bradford College will be a hub for the main weekend.
"We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate the programme in Bradford and Keighley, as well as any textile practitioners who may want to be involved with workshops, talks and clothes swaps."
Anyone interested should contact Charlotte through thestitchsociety.com.
