A VILLAGE church is hosting its final Saturday coffee morning.

The event takes place at St Andrew's Methodist Church, Cowling, this Saturday (July 15), between 10am and noon.

Admission is free, but donations will be taken for refreshments. There will be a cake stall.

A spokesperson said: "There is no raffle or quiz this time, but instead a chance to have a look around the building before closure on August 21."

New 2U, the church-based shop which donates all its proceeds to good causes, will also be open.

The shop, 'knit and natter' sessions and Friday coffee mornings – held in the Bancroft Room, from 10am to noon – will continue until the end of next month.

A celebration service is planned for Sunday, August 20, at 3pm. It will be followed by refreshments.
