TV presenter Katie Rushworth will officially open a community allotment and orchard at Silsden next Friday (July 21).
The star of ITV’s Love Your Garden will be at the fire station, in Elliott Street, from noon to perform the honours.
Former grassland at the site has been transformed by firefighters, with fruit and veg ranging from carrots and onions to strawberries and cherries now growing there, plus herbs.
The opening will include a lunch featuring some of the produce.
Katie said: "I’m so excited to be part of this special event. It’s wonderful to see how much work has gone into creating this amazing space for everyone to enjoy. I can’t wait to join the firefighters and members of the community in celebrating the achievement."
Dom Creed, watch manager at Silsden fire station, says: "This has been an incredible community project. We're delighted that Katie is joining us for the opening."
