PARENTS and carers are being urged to take their young children along to a baby wellbeing event taking place in Keighley town centre.
A wide range of health advice and support will be on offer for young families, covering topics from baby weighing and breastfeeding to accessing free books for children.
Also, teams will be present from GP surgeries across Keighley to chat with parents and carers about childhood immunisations as autumn and winter approach and amid concerns over a measles outbreak.
Dr Phillippa Smith, of the Modality AWC partnership, says: "Measles is a highly contagious disease caused by a virus which can lead to severe complications, and it is on the rise across England.
"It is really important that young families have access to all the help and support available locally, and with the prospect of a measles wave coming, that young children are up to date with their immunisations. We can help with that on the day.
"Please come along to the Airedale Shopping Centre and see us."
The event takes place adjacent to Costa, in the shopping centre, on Thursday, September 21, between 10am and 2pm.
