A SECOND Santa fun run is to be staged at Haworth.
Rotarians from the Haworth & Worth Valley club are holding the event on Sunday, December 3.
It follows the success of last year's inaugural run, which attracted around 40 participants.
Money raised went to the club's community grant scheme, which supports small organisations in the Worth Valley.
This year, entrants will follow a slightly amended five-kilometre course.
They will set off from the top of Main Street, head to Rawdon Road and then enter Central Park, via the entrance at the Rawdon Road/Butt Lane junction.
After completing nine laps of the park's pathways, runners will finish near the Haworth Bowling Club headquarters.
Rotarians will be working closely with bowling club members to provide refreshments.
Registration will begin at 10am, and the run an hour later.
A spokesperson for Haworth & Worth Valley Rotary Club says: "With the money raised from last year's first-ever Santa fun run we were able to top up the budget to our community grant scheme, which enabled us to make cash grants to small organisations based in and around the Worth Valley.
"Now the club is busily raising funds for its third community grant scheme payout and we are hoping that those runners who take part in the 2023 Santa fun run will earn sponsorship to boost our efforts.
"Entry to the fun run is open to everybody who feels they are fit enough to take part, and it’s not a race!
"All runners have to do is complete the course, or as much of it as they can, and make sure they deliver their sponsorship cash to the Rotary club. And if runners complete the run, they will qualify for a completion certificate!
"The event is organised under the banner of the club's charitable trust and that enables the trust to collect gift aid from the Government."
The Rotary club has some Santa suits for sale, for anyone wishing to buy one.
An adult version costs £8, and outfits for children and teenagers are £7.

Six organisations have this year shared £2,550 in the second round of the club's community grant scheme, with some of the funds being generated by people who took part in the debut Santa fun run.
