VILLAGERS are once again being transported back in time.

A Return to the 80s event is taking place at Oakworth Village Hall.

It follows the success of a Voyage Through the 80s evening held last year.

The latest event – on Saturday, November 11, at 7.30pm – will raise funds to help with ongoing renovations to the village hall building, which is operated by a community trust.

Organisers promise "the party of the year".

A spokesperson for the community trust's events team said: "Nights of nostalgia are always popular – and if that's what people want, that is what they shall have!

"A DJ will invite revellers to dance the night away to all their favourite 80s dancefloor fillers, and of course the bar will be open.

"Some of our previous events are the stuff of legend, and this one shouldn't be any different."

The event is for over-18s only.

Oakworth Community Trust is a charitable organisation which was formed to take over the management and operations of the village hall. The building had faced closure due to Bradford Council budget proposals.
