IMAGES from rare colour slides of Keighley 70 years ago will be shown at an event in the town.
Tim Neal is giving a presentation on how Keighley celebrated the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
His talk will be the last by a guest speaker this year at Keighley and District Local History Society.
The meeting takes place upstairs at Keighley Library on Wednesday, October 11. Doors open at 7pm, and the talk – which will last around an hour – starts at 7.30pm.
Anyone is welcome to attend. Admission is free for society members, and £3.50 for non-members.
Booking isn't required.
The presentation is replacing a talk by Alison Harrop which was originally scheduled for October. It will now take place next year.
Two more society meetings are planned in 2023 – the AGM in November and a Christmas gathering in December, which normally includes a quiz and the chance to see items donated during the year, plus seasonal refreshments.
Annual membership costs £15. Anyone joining on October 11 will be covered for the remainder of this year and the whole of 2024.
