A KEIGHLEY law firm has a new trainee solicitor – but she's no stranger to the profession.
Katie Miller, who has taken up a traineeship in AWB Charlesworth Solicitors' commercial property department, volunteered at Kirklees Law Centre after attending university.
She then took on a legal secretary job, before enrolling on a Legal Practice Course.
That led to legal assistant and paralegal work.
She has worked with the AWB Charlesworth commercial property team previously.
Felicity Green, the company's practice manager, says: "We are always exploring ways to help our staff progress their careers, and having considered with Katie the full range of routes to qualification as a solicitor, we are delighted to see her commence her training contract and we wish her every success in this next stage of her career."
James Dunn, head of commercial property, says: "We’re proud and pleased that Katie is on her way to becoming a solicitor. She has worked hard to achieve both academic qualifications and practical experience in a range of legal departments."
