A CROSS Hills family has staged a charity fundraising event in memory of a beloved mother and grandmother.
Chinny Singh, with wife Indy Kaur and son Kalvin, held the fundraiser – for Alzheimer’s Research UK – in tribute to Jaswant Kaur.
The event, at The New Tyke in Thornton, included a raffle and games.
Among the guests was Sara Hoxhaj, an ambassador for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Over £4,000 was raised, with online fundraising via Just Giving boosting the pot.
Chinny, a student mentor and teaching assistant at South Craven School in Cross Hills, says: "The event was not only to remember Jaswant and raise funds for a worthy cause, but also to help bring different cultures and communities together.
"It was very successful and we're delighted with the amount raised."
Further funds will be coined-in through a charity football match involving Craven for Change FC, a team co-founded by Chinny.
