A FORMER student bus conductor spoke to Keighley Men's Forum about his days in the role during the 1960s.
Graham Mitchell said that after trying various part-time jobs in his university years, he finally chose bus conductor, which was relatively well paid and provided him with regular work.
He explained that all Keighley buses were 55-seater double-deckers, and most townspeople travelled by bus as cars were quite a luxury.
All fares were paid in cash, and by midday the weight of coinage being carried was considerable.
Forum spokesperson David Seeley says: "Graham provided some interesting photographs of buses in and around Keighley in the early 60s and remembers his conductor days as a 20-year-old with great affection."
Thanks were given by forum president Rod Fall.
