A POIGNANT ceremony has been held at Airedale Hospital as part of Baby Loss Awareness Week.
The event was staged in the Sunbeam Garden, where candles were lit and placed around a tree of tranquillity.
Families could write messages, and the Voices of Yorkshire choir performed.
The Wave of Light ceremony - for anyone who had suffered miscarriage, stillbirth or child loss – was attended by over 80 people.
It was organised by the Sunbeam Group, run by midwives at the hospital to support bereaved parents and families.
Bev Beaumont, bereavement lead midwife and co-founder of the group, says: “It is very humbling to bring parents and families together in recognition of their baby losses. Our Sunbeam team and I feel honoured to facilitate this gathering.”
